THE RUSSIAN IMAGINISM

Summary/Abstract: The present study focuses on the group of the Russian imaginists, its place among the avant-guarde groups regarding the traditions of futurism. Special attention is paid to the state of the modern researches in regard to the theory and practice of imaginism and the common peculiarities of the poets. The imaginists aim at renovating the means of artistic expression; following the attempts of their forefathers, the cubo-futurists, they claim agrammatism, reject the prefixes, the adjectives, the verbs.
