THE UNWANTED REFORMER

Summary/Abstract: The ritual of intimidation satisfies two essential elements which are of concern to authorities faced with a subordinate who proves he is not only able to formulate demands to a significant number of members from the respective organization, but is also capable of providing solutions for them. To illustrate this situation, the paper will address the ritual of intimidation employed in an organization, we may call military, by the commanders and senior management with the purpose of supressing protest when they would rather intimidate reformers than channel the organization’s energy towards structural and personnel changes that would allow the transformation of „nonconformist enclave” into a cohesive and efficient group.
