Supplier Evaluations in the Aircraft Maintenance Organizations: Implementation of Suppliers Selection by Analytical Hierarchy Process in a Maintenance Repair Organization

Summary/Abstract: Working with right suppliers for Aviation Maintenance Organizations (MRO’s) is the most important and strategic subject as per supply chain management. In the study, on behalf of an MRO service provider’ supplier selection for business has been performed by using AHP method. In the study, selection has been accomplished among the six service providers according to the eight criteria. Two stage AHP model has been planned in the research. To make pairwise comparisons among the criteria and MRO service providers, Saaty’s 1-9 Likert type scale and row geometric mean methods which developed bu Gopel were used. According to AHP method, the best option MRO was selected among six aviation aircraft engine maintenance company. It was found that the easier, quick and effective MRO supplier selections can be accomplished by AHP methodology.
