Summary/Abstract: This article attempts to answer the question: which emotional and cognitive factors affect analytical and perceptual abilities of the individual in the context of socio-technical impact of the media? The author refers to a wide range of models, theories and perspectives connected with mechanisms of human thinking, emotions and choices. The author presents an analysis of two modes of brain activity, automatic modes of thinking, judgment heuristics, cognitive biases and the impact of emotion on human perception.
