Summary/Abstract: It is true that cinema has the ability to record reality as seen through the lens of the camera, to witness events and to turn that into a documented account; but at the same time, the camera is a subjective witness as well, for it conveys the story through the perceptions and intentions of the author. Can there be a film that is pure reflection of reality without any interference of the crew behind it? If yes, can that product be called a film? Todays’ documentaries are often a hybrid between chronicle and re-enactment. There are many fiction moments in them. But then, is it possible that a film would be fictional and authentic at the same time? I believe a film should narrated by the author and the filmmaker and interpreted through their sense of the world and their wish to tell a story. In fact, the story depends on their art.
