Summary/Abstract: One of the main development priorities of the EU until 2020 is smart development: the development of a knowledge-based economy and innovation. This priority is reflected in the thematic objectives supported by the structural and investment funds under national and regional operational programs under the 2014-2020 financial perspective. In line with the Europe 2020 Strategy, business sustainability contributes to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, as innovative ideas stemming from the involvement of structural and investment funds transform into new products and services that increase the pace of economic growth and create new jobs and solving social problems.
