Summary/Abstract: A review of the literature allowed to present specifics of the three models of innovative organization development, from closed innovation, through open innovation, to open innovation 2.0 based on the ecosystem of innovation. Identification of the individual concepts allowed for a comparative analysis involving a number of criteria: the way of creating added value, the organizational form of the innovation system, the key factor of success or operation, the regulation of cooperation, the effects of R & D work and the distribution of benefits from R & D. The cognitive dimension and the added value of the article are a joint and synthetic view of the characteristics of the three models of innovative organizations. This article is addressed both to researchers and business practitioners dealing with issues of organizational innovation.
