Economic Reconversion of Mining Rural Sites in the Brad Basin during the Transition Period (1990–2016)

Summary/Abstract: The settlements belonging to Brad, Baia de Criş, Buceş, Bucureşci and Crişcior administrative units,located in the Brad Basin, have developed a predominantly mining economic profile. Mining activitypractically ceased in the region in 2006 when all mines were closed, going into conservation.The city of Brad changed its nature from its previous mining function before 1989 to its presentcommercial and service function.
