Summary/Abstract: Both, in the Czech lands and in the south of the German speaking countries, the Franciscan Order actively took part in the Christian ministry and preaching. This study concentrates on the printed Franciscan homilies written in German and originating in Bavaria. After a short look at the history of Franciscans in Bavaria and a brief overview of the Franciscans preachers, the attention is driven to three authors of homiletic collections, who belonged to popular preachers about 1700 and were active in the region of today’s Bavary and Swabia: Leo Wolff (OFMRec., 1640 – 1708), Mauricius Nattenhusanus (OFMCap., 1652 – 1715) and Marcellian Dalhover (OFMRef., about 1655 – 1707).
