Summary/Abstract: The article presents all non-contracted forms of the imperfect in Josephus Flavius’s work “The History of the Jewish War” according to the Archival Chronograph compared to their analogical uses in the Vilnen Chronograph. The examples have been quoted in context and the comparison is presented in tables. The presence of these archaic forms brings forth the necessity of raising some doubt about N. A. Meshterski’s opinion on the time and place of the translation’s origin and supports the supposition that the Slavonic translation of the text was done during King Simeon’s Golden Age.
