Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the experimental study results on user’s acceptability of three multicriteria decision aiding methods (MCDA): AHP, SMART, TOPSIS. In experiment an electronic survey was used, which was designed as a hybrid of classic Internet survey questionaire and decision aiding system. The participants were 1 477 students from six Polish universities. TOPSIS was chosen as the simplest and the fastest method with the most intuitive interface. Contrary, AHP was indicated as requiring the highest workload. Obtained results can be used to recommand the MCDA method to the decision makers that differ in cognitive capabilities and expectations regarding the preference elicitation protocol, graphical interface of software support tool etc.
