Summary/Abstract: The article points out paremiological genre forms that are present in the Slavic medieval and renaissance manuscript’s marginal texts. The thorough analysis of 944 sources of over 9000 analyzed medieval paratexts shows the presence of three types of paremiological genre forms in the marginal texts: blessing formulas, cursing /malediction/ formulas and proverb formulas. The author suggests systematization based upon their functional characteristics. Blessings are differentiated in three basic groups: laudatory formula, vocative formula and forgiveness. Curses have two basic parts – defending and proper curses. There is a significant lexical, semantic and syntactic diversity into the construction of the proverb-type cliché in marginal texts therefore they are excluded from the present analysis.
