Summary/Abstract: After critical attention is paid to the idea of time as a kind of flow (or of a river) – being an "arrow" that has its origins in a fixed point – incl. the idea that its beginning lies in the past, and that the future comes after that according to this received opinion, a proposal is made. The so-called segments (cuts) of time should be hypothetically re-arranged through changing the places of the first and the last (these are the past and the present). It is done by using modal categories, while related to parallels regarding not only experience of time but of space, too. This attempt to re-arrangement results in the explication of certain arguments in favor of the origin of metaphysics as a whole as grounded in the psychological phenomena of non-linearity.
