Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article was indication of the desired directions in the evolution of the present model of collaboration at Polish technical universities with the business ecosystem and necessary contextual changes conditioning that evolution, or co-evolution as well. A preliminary identification of the real model of collaboration at Polish technical universities and enterprises in the technology transfer process was a main motive for taking the research topic. The identification was based on research conducted in 2017 at Polish technical universities. Research results which allow to describe proper changes of the cooperation between technical universities and business were based on analysis, synthesis and projection of evolution directions. The general transformation relay on changes in the current traditional model of the university towards to the model which is based on the transfer of knowledge and the commercialization of technical innovations. New approach also requires changes in currant business model used by Polish technical universities (Education&Research Operator). A dominating model of creating the innovation require changes as well as. It should evolve towards the network model, based on the concept of “Open Innovations”.
