Summary/Abstract: Professional satisfaction is one of the most important elements influencing the quality of life of every person. Its level depends on many factors. The aim of the study has been to investigate selected factors determining the professional satisfaction of Polish nurses. The examined group consisted of 1066 professionally active Polish nurses. The study has been conducted with the use of diagnostic survey method, where the standardized questionnaire survey had been used as a main tool. The group of factors classified in the area of work, personal and social life is the third among 5 groups of factors most strongly influencing the professional satisfaction of Polish nurses in the occupational satisfaction survey. The most influential factor in respondents’ opinion in this group of factors is the “workplace”. The results show that in the group of Polish nurses, the factors that are characterized as actual motivators are significantly influencing the level of job satisfaction. Therefore, they should be used in daily management practice in nursing teams, especially in the process of skillful motivation and employee engagement.
