Summary/Abstract: Women entrepreneurship has been the subject of research for many years and its results are often compared against the men entrepreneurship results. The conducted research has often been aimed at identification/recognition of the differences between the entrepreneurs of opposite gender. The lack of satisfactory proof for the existence of the differences has been attributed by some determined researchers to inappropriate research tools or the fact that the businesses are started by women with more masculine character features. It turns out, however, that psychological differences between men and women are negligible, so the differences in the profile of men and women running businesses are small. Therefore, redesign of the research thought is needed to concentrate more not on who but how the business is established and maintained. Consequently, it necessitates the consideration of the women’s environment in which women function, i.e. both institutional and family.
