Summary/Abstract: After the accession of Poland into NATO, there became a need of creating a unit in the Polish Armed Forces which was responsible for coordinating the civilian-military cooperation during military operations. At the turn of 2000-2001, the CIMIC Civil Military Cooperation Division was established. The Division supports the accomplishments of the Armed Forces while aiming to achieve the determined purpose of any given operation, as well as aims for quick completion of transferring civilian functions, which had been temporarily acquired by military authorities- to the appropriate civil authorities and organizations. This article presents the extent of cooperation and the role and significance of the Division, which provides a situational assessment of the given area, including the use of civil and military resources, the management of projects which are relevant to the implementation of the operation’s mission, and providing direct technical support when needed.
