Summary/Abstract: The goal of this article is to present good practices in managerial staff development in a selected local government unit. Theoretical part describes the concept and the essence of coaching. Empirical part of the article is based on own research of managers competences development based on a selected local government unit. The article highlights an important role of matching managers development methods to current needs and expectations of employees and organizations.
