Summary/Abstract: Polish universities enter into the time of dynamic changes being the results of change in academic governance, increase in the importance of competition and the globalization of the market of educational services at the higher level. Organizational management analyzes usually lead from more deterministic processes and are subject to stronger management control to indeterministic processes, over which managerial control is weaker The spheres of strategy and organizational structure are subject to stronger management control and although they are difficult to consider as fully deterministic, it is possible to describe them sequentially in an algorithmic form. In the processes of fusion of higher education institutions, the key element of success of the merger process is the area of human team management. The aim of the article is to show the role and importance of human resources management in the process of university mergers. The presented article is illustrative and it is a starting point for further in-depth research, both in the subject literature and in quantitative research.
