Summary/Abstract: Due to the changes brought by globalization, organizations have had to innovate to remain in the environment and cooperatives have been no exception, with economic activities as attending the market today requires an increase and product development. Participates as a fishing cooperative motor shaft, it helps people in the social and cultural development since the partners involved in production and management tasks. The aim of the study was to identify strategies for innovation in the fishing cooperative Barra de Palmitas. For this, the research was based on a qualitative approach considering the methodological strategy the case study; Data collection was performed through interviews with partners, managers and exdirectivos and supplemented by observation and document analysis. The findings indicate that develops activities in a rural community and has implemented process innovation strategies mainly with the introduction of equipment and tools for catching shrimp, improving its processes with the use of ecological equipment and fishing gear, fishing contributing sustainable. In conclusion it was identified that the fishing cooperative innovation strategies implemented gradually, representing an option for economic development of the inhabitants of the region where they operate.
