Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to juxtapose arrests of British citizens in Poland with those of Polish persons in Great Britain in 1947–1956, together with the presentation of the possible political background of those detentions. The article was based mainly on archival materials and literature on the diplomacy of Great Britain and Poland in the analysed period.
