Summary/Abstract: The ethnographic region of the Land of Forest Ingabitants has a number of features that make it unique notonly in the Romanian space, but throughout the world.Women’s folk costume differs a great deal in its peculiarity, in particular in ornamentation, in stitch features anddecorations along the hips. The predominant colors arered and black with purple, green, yellow and blue inserts.Headgears also differ in their specificity, peculiar only tothe forest women. The traditions of their folk costumedate back to immemorial times and, sacredly preserved forcenturies, retain their basic features unchanged. Currently, there is a certain tendency in the modernization of the Romanian peasant homespun skirts (catrinţe), but withoutaffecting the overwhelming majority of the traditions ofthe Forest Women. Thus, the folk costume retains its worthy place in the heritage of our national costumes as anelement of material culture with deep ethnic connotation
