Summary/Abstract: At a time when the audiovisual in its various modes is getting the upperhand over the written word in the field of learning and knowledge, a project such as ClipFlair (Foreign Language Learning through Interactive Revoicing and Captioning of Clips) proves its currency, having the potential to inspire innovative teaching resources for the acquisition and pedagogy of foreign languages. Based on the use of interactive audiovisual materials, the proposed ClipFlair teaching units develop the four skills covered by a “conventional” lesson, primarily through revoicing and captioning. Capitalizing on the latest achievements in the field of electronics, the project aims as well at creating a “social learning network”, providing users with access to a “virtual library” and the opportunity to interact with other users (native speakers and tutors).
