Summary/Abstract: The Article presents origin and cultural heritage within or in the borders in the City Łódź. Historical analyzes covered legal and ownership issues of settlements. The emphasis was on origin emerging villages and their development. Then analyzed shaping and development of spatial structures. The last part of the article presents the current state of preservation of objects visible in the City Łódź landscape.
