Summary/Abstract: The electoral communication represents one of the first forms of the political publicity, whose final result is the election of a political actor invested and delegated by the voters with the necessary power in order to wield it in the benefit of people. The first conceptions on the political communication focused on the electoral communication and its influence on the voters. The development and the extension of the democracy, as a governance modality, explain, in a way, the ascending evolution of the political communication, under these circumstances. In this context, we tried to present the most characteristic aspects that define nowadays, the entire process of the electoral communication: professionalizing and Americanization of the poll campaigns, the poll as an electoral ritual, televisual publicity, televisual journals and the direct and indirect impact of media on the polling intentions.
