Summary/Abstract: Raul Dona (1873 - 1924) was the son of General Nicolae Dona and Emilia Wirt-Pester. Since the end of the 19th century, he began his medical career. In 1916, at the age of 43, he married Niculina, one of the daughters of the writer and politician Barbu Ştefănescu-Delvrancea. With Romania's entry into World War I, Dr. Dona would be focused as a military doctor. The Dona family (who had grown up with Niculina's birth, as did hundreds of thousands of other Romanians), retired to Moldova in the autumn of 1916. The journal begins on January 29, 1917, at which Dr. Dona was with his wife and daughter at Vaslui
