Summary/Abstract: The study discusses the concept of musical choreographic theatrical shows, dedicated to traditional culture. This type of folklore show, seldom approached by scientific researchers and artists, should be regarded both as a means of preserving traditional culture and as a show, deeply rooted into the artistic requirements of the 21st century performing arts and into the needs of the spectators. In this context, the specific characteristics of such productions are illustrated through shows put on stage by „Cindrelul-Junii Sibiului” Professional Folk Ensemble. Their positive impact is to be observed in promoting authentic heritage and in the increasing interest of artists and general audience.
