Summary/Abstract: The present study is an analysis of the professor Onisifor Ghibu’s activity in the ASTRA institution and of his contribution to the development of teaching in Romanian language for the Romanians in Transylvania between 1910 and 1927. The arguments brought forth by the great professor and patriot are sociological, psychological and pedagogical in nature. Many of these had a profound influence on the development of education in the Romanian language, on all levels, from the primary-school to the university one.
