Summary/Abstract: Free movement of labor can be defined as the European Union's effort to impose certain formal requirements to contracts or employment relationships. The multitude of employment relationships and the diversity of national laws concerning working conditions have led the European Union to improve the protection of employees against possible infringements of their rights. For this reason, throughout the European Union Directive 91/533/EEC, posited the obligation of employers to provide each employee with a document containing information on the essential aspects of his contract or employment relationship.
