Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of denationalization process, every country faces three problems: legislative and legal, material and financial, organizational and procedural. Passing the law is the first and most important step, but that is not enough. Numerous fundamentally important measures have to be taken, those concerning necessary political and social consensus, determination and allocation of economic resources for restitution, planning and allocation of funds, precise definition of duties of state authorities, and synergy of the state apparatus in the field of restitution. Furthermore, substantial in the processare organization of work during implementation of legal regulations, and enforcement of acceptable work dynamics in resolving claims. In this paper, the author deals with the results of denationalization in the Republic of Serbia, and also in other former SFRY member countries, since the property in all these countries was seized based on the same regulations and by the same methods, keeping in mind the cultural and historical heritage and closeness that exists among them. Additionally, the author draws attention tothe problems encountered by almost all countries on the challenging path of denationalization, stating objections and suggestions.
