Summary/Abstract: Cooperation between self-government units and NGOs is regarded as a key issue in this article. The first part presents the essence of NGOs. Next, fundamental legal regulations are elaborated concerning the cross-sector cooperation. Types of cooperation are discussed in the following steps, whereas the final part provides the research outcome concerning cooperation between NGOs and self-government units in Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
