Sustainable development of rural areas – assessment attempt

Summary/Abstract: The article presents research results on the sustainable development of rural areas. The research was carried out in the period of 2000-2008 in Lower Silesia Voivodeship with distinguishing 5 regions of functional rural areas. Indicators were a base for the evaluation of the development according to the paradigm of the sustainable development. They let assess the development of the economic, environmental and social order in the provisional and spatial arrangement.
