Summary/Abstract: The article presents a comparative analysis in which I investigate the means and mechanisms through which substitution and more precisely the nominal substitute “one/ones” is projected onto Bulgarian. I apply the theory into practice by providing examples and their translation variants, illustrating the text-forming nature of substitution. Additionally, the paper provides a detailed comment on the function of the linguistic means projecting the nominal substitute “one/ones”.
