Summary/Abstract: One of the most important areas of your activity is combating the negative effects of unemployment. The size and consequences of unemployment make it a focus of many scientific disciplines for many years. The main purpose of the article is to present how the countries belonging to the European Union, including Poland, work to eliminate unemployment. The article presents the diversity of passive and active forms of combating unemployment and shows how the actions taken affect the level of unemployment.
