The value of knowledge in the context of the future work of young generation

Summary/Abstract: The article presents partial results of the research into the local labor market in the district of Pszczyna, which was carried out in 2013 by the District Labour Office in Pszczyna, and is exclusively focused on the research conducted on a sample of secondary schools graduates. The primary objective of the survey was to make an attempt to diagnose their plans concerning education and career, as has been detailed in the article. What is more, the level of the civilization competence of the respondents completing upper secondary schools was estimated. Behaviour patterns among jobless youth were also identified in the survey, as well as key factors that are of great significance for employers when it comes to making a decision who to take on.
