Summary/Abstract: Due to its unique character and industrial history, in Lodz, there are many post-industrial buildings and spaces within the urbanized area of the city, which are located most often in very attractive settings. Following the private and public sector investments many of those places are being restored and play a new role in urban landscape. Many of those “industrial-areas-revitalisation” projects ongoing in Lodz are associated with locations inextricably associated with the local identity and scenery of the city. One of those projects was the revitalization of the Scheibler factory area. Within this undertaking the buildings of the 19th century yarn factory were turned into housing estate (lofts “U Scheiblera”) with additional commercial facilities (2005–2010). The paper summarises the results of the questionnaire research undertaken in 2017 amongst residents living in the area of 500 m away from the lofts “U Scheiblera” and presents their opinions and feedback about the influence of this revitalization project on the surrounding of the old factory.
