Summary/Abstract: The current article analyses a fundamental category of the law of evidence in Bulgarian criminal proceedings – the so-called means of evidence. A follow-up on the theses evolution by a number of authors on this topic is made and also there is an emphasis on the amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code since 2010 and 2017 which overstretch the concept of the means of evidence on criminal cases and mostly – which enlarge the variety of types of documentary evidence.
