AN OLD COLLECTION OF ROMANIAN MEDIEVAL COINS IN LIGHT OF ARCHIVAL DOCUMENTS

Summary/Abstract: Based on the documents preserved in the National Archives of Romania, the author presents information about an old collection of medieval coins, formed to the end of the 19th century. The collection, consisting of 1644 medieval coins issued by Moldavia, Wallachia and Transylvania, was bought by Romania from the collector K.F. Nuber in 1906. In the same year the numismatic collection was given to the Romanian Academy.
