Documents regarding the creation of the numismatic collection of the Al. Saint-Georges between 1932-1949

Summary/Abstract: Based on the documents preserved in the National Archives of Romania, the author presents information about numismatic collection of the former Al. Saint-Georges Museum. In 1949 the museum was closed and the collections were dispersed. Numismatic collections are preserved at Institute of Archaeology “Vasile Pârvan” but the information concerning the provenance of the pieces was lost. In the old archives of the Al. Saint-Georges Museum preserved in the National Archives of Romania it was found several documents about donations from public institutions and private collectors.
