Summary/Abstract: An analysis of the names of diseases and medicinal herbs in a manuscript healing book from 18th century shows that the so-called supporting literary genres in the Franciscan monks literary production are connected to the products of the same kind in other Serbo-Croat areas. With healing books, more than with other types of text, a matter of linguistic, primarily lexical, adaptation to the area where they were written and appropriate public is called for ... In relation to it is the question to what extent a healing book has been, copied for the personal needs, and to what extent for the benefit of public, so the quality of its communication potential must be determined.
