Summary/Abstract: The modern law of competition, as a manifestation of the governmental intervention in economy, aims to grow the economic efficiency and, implicitly, the welfare of the society by preventing the monopolization and excessive market power exposure of certain participants in the economic circuit who could appeal to anti-competitive behaviors. A deep understanding of how such behaviors work on the market describe the way in which this branch of the law, that combines elements of public law with elements of private law, becomes efficient, considering also its mission to reconcile the inherent tensions between the purpose of economy and the equity shared between the enterprises which take part in the economic circuit.
