Summary/Abstract: When we are talking about the situation of the Church during the Soviet regime, it can be summed up as a comprehensive control over the Church, which was implemented by the Communist Party, on the one hand, and the executive bodies, above all, state security institutions, on the other. In this respect, the situation in the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic was similar to the situation in other Soviet republics.
