Reliabilityy of Polish Public Television

Summary/Abstract: Reliability is considered a virtue, a value, but most of all it is a basic principle of journalism. The aim of the thesis is to analyze journalistic reliability applied to selected commentary programmes which were shown on Polish Public Television (TVP) in the period during which the subject of the controversial theatre play "Klątwa" (“The Curse”) was brought up in media discussions. Media content analysis has been chosen as the most suitable research method. The term of reliability is discussed first. Next media content analysis of the selected programmes is developed. In conclusion ethical standards of Polish Public Television are applied to evaluate selected programmes.
