Summary/Abstract: In this study, the translation problems from Russian to Turkish of “The Overcoat”, which is written by 19th century Russian writer Gogol, will be discussed. Aforementioned book’s different translations from two different translators, Erol Güney- Orhan Veli Kanık - Oğuz Peltek; Mehmet Özgül, Mazlum Beyhan, Mehmet Harmancı, Aslı Takanay and Uğur Büke, will be compared to the original text and it will be questioned if they protected the Gogol’s language and literary style.
