Summary/Abstract: This study aims to analyse the effect of the efficiency of the school principals on the education period. In this sense, it was determined whether the efficiency of school principals were influential on the education period; moreover it was determined that which efficiency had how much effect on the process. In the study conducted through definitive research model, survey practise was carried out.Expert views were accepted in the survey for the convenience of the statements related leadership efficiency and performance indicators. In the study, efficiency of the school principals were evaluated by the teachers working with them.In the sample survey, 30 primary schools were included in Manisa City borders and in each school at least 10 teachers took part in the survey practise (n=340). The results obtained through survey practise ,specified by statistics like average and standart deviation, were determined by t test and ANOVA. The competence of school principals and effiiciency of education period relation was determined using the corelation tecnique. In order to determine the efficiency of education period multi regresion analysis was used. In the study, the competence of the school principals was studied using eight facts and the role of these competences on the efficiency of education period was determined. The results of the study have put forth that school principals have positive effect on resource management, constant vocational progress and the school merits system. Within these three competences, relatively constant vocatioanal progress has taken the lowest evaluation. Consequently, school principals are recommended to place emphasis on the activities oriented at vocational progress and provide more opportunity on this aspect.
