Summary/Abstract: Every process of human activity is closely linked to the natural need for assessment and evaluation, as well as the education process cannot be imagined without evaluation. The evaluation process is generally complex, because involve many variables from the actors of the evaluation. The studies of school assessment and evaluation process are widespread and theirs pedagogical and methodological background is well elaborated. The changes of the society bring and describe new challenges and needs, predict and require new attitudes and flexibility of the young generation. These requirements lay a charge on our education system to innovate the recent school assessment and evaluation process. This paper deals with assessment practice in Slovakia and presents the results of the research focused on getting data about which pupils' learning outcomes are assessed and which kind of assessment for learning tools are used by teachers in school assessment process within their pedagogical practice. We also analysed the stochastic relationships in relation to the teacher factor and his selected attributes (the length of pedagogical practice and the educational area by the teacher's subject specification), ascertaining the extent to which they determine respondents' response in using assessment tools and their frequency of occurrence in their pedagogical practice.
