Summary/Abstract: In today's Islamic world, as a Muslim sect Shiite-Imamiyya has the largest number of followers after the school of Ahl al-Sunnah. In terms of the history of Islamic thought, attention is drawn to the existence of two major schools of thought in Shi’ite-Imamiyye. One of them is Akhbāriyya and the other is Usuliyya which was methodized by Shaykh al-Mufīd. This article discusses Akhbāriyya and Usūliyya in the context of Shaykh al-Sadūq and Shaykh al-Mufīd’s works. In addition, this article provides vital information about the scientific personalities of Shaykh al-Sadūq the most important representative of Ahbāriyya school and Shaykh al-Mufīd who methodized the school of Usuliyya. On the other hand, the article looks into how two schools of thought (in the context of Shaykh Al-Sadūk and Shaykh Al-Mufīd) understand basic doctrinal issues of Shiite-Imamiyya. This is taken in dealing with the differentiation of the two school subjects limited with Shaykh al-Sadūq’s al-I‘tiqâdât and Shaykh al-Mufīd’s Tashih al-I‘tiqādāt. At the same time, for a better understanding of some issues or due to lack of adequate information about certain topics in discussed works, the works of both Shaykh al-Sadūq and Shaykh al-Mufīd's other works were benefitted from.
