Fifty Years of Radio Broadcasting at the Comenius University — the Dormitory Radio Mlynská Dolina 1

Summary/Abstract: The study deals with radio broadcasting of students in conditions of the Comenius University in Bratislava. In this context, it examines two lines: (1) dormitory radio broadcasting as leisure activity of students of various faculties or universities, especially on the example of IRŠ MD-1 as the first student dormitory radio broadcaster of the Comenius University; (2) university radio as a training opportunity for students of journalism to get and practice their professional skills. Based on research on historical sources, the author concludes that both these amateur broadcasting platforms of students at Comenius University have showed signs of professionalism in the field of radio broadcasting.
