Summary/Abstract: In the following article we attempt to give an overview of the way in which the current Romanian booth has come into being. Since 1989, Romania as a country has gone through some very rapid and drastic changes which also brought about the need for high-level interpreters. The turning point was of course Romania's adhesion to the European Union in 2007. How interpreter training evolved in the last decade and whether it is bound to shift again are the issues at the core of our interrogation.
