Summary/Abstract: A significant percentage of detainees who have been sentenced to life imprisonment commit new offenses after being released from a prison, education center or detention center. The socio-educational activity aims to reduce the negative influence of the deprivation of liberty on the personality of the detainees, the adaptation to a normal life after leaving the penitentiary, the school and professional training, the moral support, the behavioral rehabilitation and the improvement of the self-respect.The activities and programs to be attended are noted in the plan presented to the detainees, and they sign whether or not they are committed to participating. Thus, the activities for which they gave their consent become mandatory. Failure to comply with these obligations means that they are not interested in their social reintegration. There are several activities in the detention units, which aim at the social reintegration of convicted persons adapted to prison sentences. Paying special attention to the educational activity of the convicts, the following objectives are pursued:“- keeping the detainees occupied for as long as possible;- improving the quality of life in settlements;- obtaining useful things, such as skills, knowledge, understanding, attitudes, social behaviors. ”
